Booking

During these times of uncertainty we are being flexible with bookings. If you are unable to travel due to restrictions or a lockdown where you live or if we are not open due to restrictions or a lockdown, we will offer you the opportunity to change your holiday dates. If this is not possible we will give a full refund. If you can not travel due to illness including COVID-19 or you are required to self isolate, this needs to be covered by your own holiday insurance.

Precautions

During the COVID-19 pandemic we are working very hard to keep our guests or staff safe as possible. We have fully risk assessed the site and have been awarded the We're Good To Go logo by Visit England. We are members of PASC and are following their approved cleaning guidelines. On arrival in the cottage you will find the completed cleaning check list which you can view here

Our cottages will look a little bit different (if you have stayed with us before) as some items have been removed and others are on rotation. We have enhanced cleaning in place and your cottage will have been ‘deep cleaned’ and surfaces and touch points will have been disinfected with a hospital grade disinfectant.

Other changes we have introduced;

  • There is hand sanitiser on the gate post for each cottage, please use each time you enter.

  • The games and toys you find in the cottage will have been stored for 7 days before being returned.

  • Your welcome hamper is in a washable container and the produce is all sealed and shop bought.

  • The tourist information leaflets are single use.

  • The information folders all have wipeable sleeves and have been disinfected.

  • The videos, books and Wii games (Threshing and Corn Barn) are unused.

  • There are less items in the kitchen so all can be washed in the dishwasher before your arrival.

  • You will find disposable gloves and cloths and cleaning products under the utility sink for your use during your stay. The mop cloth is clean and washable, please leave in sink for washing if used on departure, please don’t throw away!

If you feel ill

If you become unwell during your stay or start to display symptoms of Covid-19 you must self-isolate along with those staying with you, inform Jane and Graham, contact 111 and arrange a test. You must travel back home as soon as possible as self-isolation in the cottages is not permitted. We strongly advise you travel while you are still well enough to do so. Anyone staying past their rental period will have to meet full costs of rent, enhanced cleaning and any other additional expenses.

Shared facilities

We ask that you practice social distancing around the grounds and pathways. There is plenty of space so this shouldn’t be too difficult!

The good news is that children’s outdoor play equipment can be used. You will find hand sanitiser on the post as you enter the paddock which should be used before playing. We ask that children are supervised, and that social distancing is maintained.

On departure - we need a little help!

So, we can provide yourselves and others with an enjoyable holiday we are asking all guests to help us and our cleaners by carrying out a few simple tasks.

  • Any used, read or touched books, DVDs or Wii games are put into the white hamper basket to be removed from the cottage.

  • We ask that you put the washing up sponge, cloth in the bin.

  • The oven gloves and tea towels are placed in the bucket you will find in the utility area and left for collection.

  • Any used PPE used during your stay needs to be double paged and sealed.

  • To empty all bins and put rubbish in the black sacks in the dust bins outside the cottage and tie

  • We ask that all recycling is clean and sorted correctly

  • The BBQ should be cleaned, and the grills washed

  • The tourist information leaflets are either taken away with you or put in the recycling

  • The beds are striped, and the linen is put in the orange or green laundry hamper you will find in the utility room (this goes to a laundry company)

  • Both pillow and mattress protectors are taken off the beds and put into the blue laundry hamper

  • Towels and bathmats are placed in the washing machine ready to be washed. A second load can be left on the floor in front of the washing machine.

  • Finally, please open windows to air each room in the cottage.

We thank all our guests for their cooperation and help during this time and we hope that the measures we are taking are reassuring.
