What to bring with you.

We do provide a large list of provisions for your stay, please see our What’s Included tab for a full list. But we do ask that you bring:

  • Swimming towels for use with the hot tub. (Our towels should not be taken out of the cottage).

  • Linen/bedding for cots.

Please remember, although we like to provide you with supplies for your comfort and enjoyment, to get you started, we are still self-catering cottages!

Coffee machines

Our cottages are equipped with Delonghi Dedica espresso machines. In your welcome basket you will find a box of ESE (easy serve espresso) pods, these are coffee bags for espresso machines. The ESE pods are easy to use for single shot expresso. Ground coffee can also be used as long as it is ground for an espresso machine, coffee ground for filters or cafetieres will not work!

You will also find a cafetiere in your cottage.

Septic Tanks

East Trenean farm is not connected to the mains sewerage system but has septic tanks instead. It is important that animal fats are not put down the sink. Please wait for them to cool and set and then using kitchen roll put as a solid in the bin. To keep our tanks happy and working well we are not able to use bleach or other harmful chemicals. We provide supplies of environmentally friendly products to use in our cottages, from supplies such as Ecover and Method. If using your own products please make sure they are not anti-bacterial or biological, thank you.  Please also DO NOT dispose of tampons, sanitary towels, nappies, condoms etc down the loo. You will find covered bins and sanitary disposal bags in all bathrooms for this purpose. This will prevent any unpleasant blockages or back-ups in the system which could affect your enjoyment of your holiday.  Thank you for your cooperation on this issue.

You are very welcome to explore the shared grounds and fields of the farm but please be aware of the hazards. Fencing around the fields is topped with barbed wire to keep livestock in and is not suitable for climbing over or putting your hands on. Please close all gates behind you as you walk the fields, sheep on the roads are a danger to motorists and difficult to get to return! There are many wild rabbits in the fields and therefore many holes! Take care especially along the edges of the fields not to lose your footing down a hole. You will also see that we have many moles by the number of mole hills in the fields, please take care.

There are power lines across some of our fields, so please take care, don't fly kites, play with air born toys or climb trees near them. For this reason and for the privacy of other guests we ask that drones are not flown on the farm.

We ask that you supervise children in the grounds and play areas, ensuring that they use play equipment appropriately. Although we are a very quiet spot we do have the cars of guests and deliveries being made, so please be aware of vehicles on our driveways and car park. The farm has many green wildflower earth banks along its green lane and fields, please take care as there maybe loose stones and ground level changes on the other side. Please be aware that there is a pond in the garden of the farmhouse, this is fenced and gated.

The cottages have lidded bins under the kitchen sinks and a bin for recyclable items. When these are full please put rubbish in the black bins outside each cottage. When bins become full and on departure day, please tie the black sack and place it in one of the storage chests on the edge of the guest car park.

There is a taxi pick up point in the centre of East Looe on the left-hand side just before you go over the Looe river bridge.

It is best to book taxis in advance, as they are mostly hire cars.
